    Leitz Leicaflex 35mm SLR Cameras - Standard black paint - SL & SL2 - Video - Jo Geier - Mint & Rare

    Introduced in 1964, the Leicaflex was Leica's first 35mm SLR camera with a total production of around 37500 cameras of which only 1000 examples were made in black paint finish of the first version from serial number 1084001 - 1085000 (MK I) and 1000 examples of the second version from serial number 1168001 - 1169000 (MK II). The Leicaflex SL was produced from 1968 to 1974 from serial number 1173001 and ended at serial number 1375000 with a total production of around 71000 pieces.

    About - Jo Geier

     

    Jo Geier has been working with cameras since he was eight years old. His father Karl Geier regularly took him to photo fairs, where he could earn a little money back then. Lens filters and caps were among his specialties. His father gave him his first camera, a Yashica FX-D Quartz with an ML 2 / 50mm lens.

    He tested it extensively in his spare time and during several vacations until he shot 45 pictures on a single 35mm film in Greece. Unfortunately there was no film in the camera, so the decision was made to deal with the "hardware" rather than the "software".
