The Canon J-II, produced by Seiki-Kogaku between 1945 and 1946, is an extremely rare post-WWII 35mm viewfinder camera. It was a "budget" civilian model assembled largely from leftover parts of pre-war and wartime Model S rangefinder bodies. Only about 525 units were produced (serial numbers approximately 8000–8700). Version WITHOUT the visible patch or covered holes where the slow-speed shutter mechanism would normally have been located on the model S. With the matching "J Mount“ Nippon-Kogaku Nikkor 3.5/5cm no.460219 (while it features a 39mm thread, it uses a unique "J mount" with a different thread pitch than the standard Leica Thread Mount (LTM/M39)).
